The TEUTATES - Project : Tablet - PCs in Modern Physics Edu - cation
نویسندگان
چکیده
The overall objective of the TEUTATES approach is to implement a flexible mobile learning concept for a modern physics education at universities, focusing on enhanced access to a broad variety of experiments. Within a blended learning concept, Tablet-PCs allow an extended experimental part of the education right from the beginning. Different types of experiments – remote and virtual – are introduced. Executed within web-interfaces, experiments can be implemented and accessed regardless of the location of the laboratory and the experimenter. Additionally, experiments can be performed which otherwise would not be accessible for reasons of expense, security, or availability. Students work individually or in small groups, designing and executing different types and realizations of experiments including the investigation of the underlying theoretical models. Through its highly interactive approach, TEUTATES contributes to a modern pedagogy for university teaching which aims at creative thinking and high level learning, encouraging students to become active learners challenged by complex problems and situations, seeking collaboratively a variety of solutions. ICT are applied to learning purposes and modern pedagogics such as project-based learning, problem oriented learning, principles of non-linear learning, cooperative and cross-cultural learning.

Implementing tablet PCs in schools: Students' attitudes and opinions
In this study, the attitudes, expectations and views of 206 students in four high schools within the scope of the FAT_ IH project in Turkey were assessed regarding tablet PC technology after six months of a pilot plan that included the distribution of tablet PCs to students. The research questions of this study are whether there is a meaningful difference between tablet PC use by male and femal...
متن کاملIn Situ Cross-Linking of Polyanionic Polymers to Sustain the Drug Release from Theophylline Tablets
The aim of this study was to develop an extended-release tablet formulation using a new in situ cross-linking method. The effects of polyvalent cations on theophylline release from tablets made with the polyanionic polymers sodium alginate and sodium carboxymethylcellulose, were investigated. Different miliequivalents of the di and tri-valent cation, Ca2+ and Al3+, were added to tablet form...
متن کاملAssessment of polymer composite reinforced with nanomaterial against ionizing radiation
Introduction: Unwanted exposure of ionizing radiation may result in carcinogenesis, cell mutations, and organ failure. High-atomic number elements such as lead, tungsten, bismuth have been traditionally used for radiation protection. Theoretical and practical studies have shown that a variety of shielding materials e.g. polymer composites (PCs) can be used for attenuation of th...
متن کاملThe Tablet PC For Faculty: A Pilot Project
This paper describes a pilot project with the purpose of evaluating the usefulness of tablet PCs for university professors. The focus is on the value of tablets primarily with respect to teaching and learning (and not for research or administrative work). Sixty-four professors, distributed across the various schools of a university, were provided with tablet PCs and were trained in their use. A...
